So my ISP (Virgin) have really screwed up.
I signed a contract mid-September, and since, the internet has been slow. I called them up late September and they said "Sorry, we are having major technical issues within the area and the engineers are working on it. It'll be done by the 25th October"

That day came and went, and the net is STILL bad.

Called them up today and after being moved from one person to the next 4 or 5 times, I finally got to the right person only for my phone to get disconnected.

Ok, I called again only to be told that they had no record of this call. They put me on hold and actually took me back to the start menu (as if I just called them).

After waiting on hold for 45 minutes, I finally get through to them again. They said "Sorry, we are having major technical issues within the area and the engineers are working on it. It'll be done by the 23rd November"

What would you do?

What I would do is first read the contract, then go to a Virgin office and ask for a refund and cancellation of contract. Talk to the manager. If you're a lawyer, fling some scary words.

Ok, first of all, I think you got trolled. Second of all, you can always threaten to sue them or complain to the supervisory department or whatever that is a watchdog over there or anyone that has control over your ISP (like the Ministry of Telecommunications here)

They'd **** their pants.

LOL, everyone I know is having problems with Virgin.. In London that is.. You should simply break off the contract due to poor service.. And go for BE*, google it =]

Ha, Lotak being frustrated because a virgin won't keep their promise to go faster in their relationship? Sounds pretty normal, to me.

I'd move to the next ISP. Quite enough offers from all sides here.
Though the first time i was forcibly moved to this current ISP. I've called them once when i had problems and they thought it was from my PC. So i called the neighbor and he said he had the same problem.
They fixed it 2 days ago LOL, since i had proof that it wasn't from my pc.

Ask for refund because of poor service, cancel contract, write review on the company on various sites and get media involved, national newspapers or the like (if their service is truly terrible it shouldn't be much of a problem), watch them go bankrupt or fix their ****ty service and get a new contract. Epic win for everybody.

Haha, that'd be stupid. But not sure if other countriest have something similar but here we have 'consumentenbond' which roughly translates to: if a certified company rips you off, he's gonna get a real bad reputation around the whole country.
