Old guild war map
I know many of you have asked previously about the old guild war map. Majority of you were not playing when it was still in use (it was replaced Jan 2004 with the current one). Here are some screenshots of it :-). I did not take these, I do not have a copy of mine seeing as it was sooooooooooooo long ago. Searching for this seemed far more interesting than exam revision.
Procrastination over - Enjoy! I did enjoy this guild war style :-) was a lot more fun in my opinion than the current map.

i think guild war should rotate maps it get kind of boring. anyway i did heard also that the original gw map was better then the one now. its good to get a look at it.

Old GW map? Didn't know they changed it, looks better, harder to run, but more space to fight, doesn't seem to be a castle, worst part about it is that ****ing bridge and honestly we have that nowadays to.

I think they need a new map again... Its so easy to hold the castle these days...
I'm thinking a mix of the two, 1 bridge but then a castle with maybe more gates? (harder to defend all at once), or no gate just another choke point. On most servers now its 1 guild (and its allies) dominating against an underdog guild.. yet to see a server with an equal gw, so i think something has to be done to give the smaller guilds a chance, if they got the gear/skills to still win at the pole. I also think they should change it so it isnt whoever has pole last wins, maybe who holds it longest or something during the last 30min, so you get a real guild war. Maybe multiple poles around the map..

Oho loved that map. Although I didn't really dislike the newer one. Some defensive bonus had to be added, in this case a castle.

The problem isn't the map. The problem is that damage ratio's are all off with Chi implemented. Everyone hits insane damage.....something that was never a problem a few years ago in CO...Until now.

It has always been a bit like that, but now it is being noticed more. We said the same thing after talismans, dragonsouls and critical hit was introduced. Things went too fast. Now with chi, it's pretty much overkill.
I remember monks with cyclone (attack speed pre nerf) ripping the pole in shreds in 4 seconds solo. That was the day I quit. That and people kicking me in the air then one hitting me with tripple of course. On classic conquer, chi is a joke. Everyone is practically one hit. Changing guild war map won't make a difference. The damage is too messed up to balance it properly.
