If you actually want some PHP basics, here it is:
Embed it using <php? and ?>

Declaring a variable:
A variable must start with $. Format:
$variablename = vaule;

If:
The if statement uses a block of code if a condition is executed.
if(condition) code to be executed;

Else:
Executes a block of code if a condition is not executed.
example -
if(condition)
code to be executed
else
code to be executed

That's basic stuff. You can't do much just knowing that.
