There are two fuses (the things that burn). Each of them burns for exactly 1 hour. We want to use them to measure exactly 45 minutes.
The problem is that the fuses do not burn at the same rate (despite burning for exactly one hour). The fuses are of different length, and different width. That is, half of it's length will not burn for 30 minutes. And one quarter will not burn for 15 minutes - you can't measure time by the proportion of the fuse burnt (like 75% = 45 mins) So how do we measure 45 minutes.

And after you get this one, I have another one, which I don't know the answer to. Lol. A friend told me, and I couldn't get it.

He means after 30 minutes it could be 1/4 of the way through the fuse or 3/4 of the way through the fuse.

First, you light 3 ends, 1 Fuse will be gone in a half an hour, because it will burn from both ends, thus it being 2 times quicker. As soon as the 1st fuse is gone... Light the other remaining fuse's end so that the fuse's remaining time left will cut in half from 30 mins to 15 minutes left. El-Done-o.

Could be anything. A big bottle of compressed helium.
