Breakthrough eliminates the BP defense of 70% or whatever.

Penetration reduces the m-def defence.

They're 'similar', but different.

Breakthrough gets rid of all the defense. It only applies to enemies with higher bp than you.

Penetration reduces some of the defense, and works on everyone.

They change different parts of the damage calculation.

Counteraction stops breakthrough only. Doesn't say anything about penetration.

What breakthrough does is remove the BP/Potency difference for the person with the higher BP/Potency thus removing the 70/60/50/40/30 percent rule on the Damage Reduction making your attack = to you being the same BP/potency as your opponent. This alone was one of the best ideas which IMO has made it so people that do not buy dbs or do not buy a lot of dbs can actually play on the same playing field as the people that do buy dbs and allows the person using breakthrough to capitalize on the max attack they have from SDG's, weapons & rings, etc.

Immunity is a huge skill and thats probably why it costs the most study points. If you can keep your immunity in check with the opponents Critical strike you can nerf the chance of CS going off. For melee a CS is usually a 1 hit so its sorta a mute point yet for a melee vs a fire it becomes a huge sub class skill since if you can remove the chance of a fires CS going off you stay on the lower side of the damage they do all the time. What they really need to do is put a sub class in for the penetration sub class (the added 15%) thus allowing fires only to gain penetration from the refinary side of it thus making the fire choose between penetration, CS, etc. The fires did not need the added 15 percent from the sub class without the ability of other players being able to apply a nerfing sub class. I think this would bring fires a little more in check on the damage side yet thats just IMO.

Nothing is imposible if you bulk enough. Or just get full inventory of pots and poison blade and hope for the best

get higher bp n one hit, that's the only way to beat a fire. Even if you do beat him, you will usually take severe damage first
