My DELL LCD just sits here for about 2 years, no problem with it yet. I guess now you have to replace the memory of the monitor if the chip got burned, if LEDs work with the same system.

Replace the memory...? What are you on about, it's probably just a short circuit, faulty wiring or the like.

The chip which holds the info such as settings of the monitor, etc. Seems that every time we get a monitor over here, it's always that damn thing with the exception of one monitor which had the jack damaged. Though never had a LED, mostly LCDs / CRTs. Though by wiki's definition, LED monitor seems to be the same as LCD O_o

A LED monitor is just a LCD monitor with LED lights to save energy.
Anyhow, I filed a RMA and I'll be sending it to where I bought it from, it has a 36 months warranty so it will be replaced.

Good thing they give warranties. I wonder if my Dell still has it if anything happens to it. When i opened it, i was amazed: No dust inside, unlike the pc, which gets filled with dust due to those fans.

I never open up stuff unless there's no warranty on it, opening it makes the warranty void, which is a incredibly stupid rule seeing the dust accumulation in mass production PCs like you stated.

Well, i think the warranty had already passed for this thing here anyway. Normally they give you a 12 month or less for these here. After that it's cheaper for me to get the parts and replace them instead of buying a new one.

The company which sold me the monitor told me I had 36 months warranty, I filed the RMA at Acer instead since the company was ****ing slow at responding and Acer told me there were about 150 days left ... quick math makes that just a 1-year warranty in total.

I'm never going to buy stuff @ that ****ty online hardware store again, ever.
