I got maybe 200 rep from there when it was new, too. Otherwise, the other 900 or so was given to me from others who enjoyed my posts. More than most people can say I think :p

Though you wouldn't have got that much if people didn't have higher ranks in reputation because of that thread.

Erm? Strength in numbers. Obviously yes the people with massive rep will rep me more, but the only one who does rep me is keleso (as far as I can tell, I don't live in my CP to see who's repping me), and he's repped me as I can remember, 3 times on my posts in OT. I haven't seen anyone else in the top 30-40 people rep me (and for that matter, I only recognize very few of their names), because they all spend time in that thread repping each other instead of mulling about the rest of the forum using the rep system like it's supposed to be used- rep for good posts, not "rep me I rep back" crap.

I don't see how you can say I wouldn't have my rep if it weren't for that thread, since that thread stays for 90% of the time enclosed and just reps itself. I don't really care about rep to be perfectly honest. Pep me or nep me it's whoevers choice, I'll live with it. I've been on this forum long enough, and earned the recognition that goes with my name, people know me for being me and respect that- I don't need a massive rep bar I earned by doing nothing but being self centered by repping people so they'll rep be back. I'm proud of the fact I've made myself known on these forums without doing silly things like that.

I appreciate when people rep me, but that doesn't mean I'll rep them back, and I hope they know that. I rep people when they do something to deserve it. Seldomly do I rep for no reason.
