I did not mention it in that post (nep for others) no. Doesnt mean I didnt later on in the thread. I went by what I was experiencing. We have had this system for a bit now, I didnt ask for it then, did I? I was in fact one of the mods who advocated that posters be allowed to nep/rep mods, as I do believe in being able to voice your opinion.

That was never the issue. The issue was making several threads asking people to nep. People who had no idea what the situation was about, so it wasnt even their honest opinion, it was just to do what others were doing. And that IS abusing the system. I am fine with people nepping me and telling me I am an ass when I warn/infract/edit them. Those are honest opinions pertaining to the matter, to their issue.
I am fine with people nepping me and telling me they didnt like a certain post of mine. But it is not fine to systematically nep someone, making threads, adding said thread in signatures so more would do it. That has absolutely nothing to do with nep, thats harassment and the admin agreed.
I am fine with taking the blame for it, I can handle all the flame that will come of it too, but if this prevents a new mod from getting treated like that and maybe quitting, then I am only glad that people cant nep anymore.

People may hate mods because we enforce rules they hate, doesnt mean we have to put up with all the bull**** as well. We are human beings too. Well except me, apparently I am a nazi robot :p

And yes mods can nep, though do doubt any mod would use it. I know I never would. If everyone else cant, I dont want to be able to either.

This is absolutely retarded. Whether it says "Approve of or Disapprove of" isn't going to stop people from writing nasty comments. If you're going to cry about it and actually take internet insults personally you should delete rep altogether, and PMs, and probably the forums.

Oh it will be cracked down on now. Again, nasty comments is abusing the system, and they do go under the forum rules. If anyone receives nasty comments, screenshot it and send it to a mod, we will do what we can to deal with it and pass it on to the admin that can remove them, and ban if necessary. Its fine to give a negative comment, its not fine to get nasty/bypass or be racist.

And dont worry about it being anonymous, the admin can look up who it is and deal with it.

Though know, if the nasty comments move to reps, you risk the admin removing that as well (and no I wont be pushing for that, its too funny seeing people trying to nep with reps)

Even the moderators can check who was the person giving reputation to you.

There is no need to log in and see I am a . There is no need for people to be internet bullies either. Its against the forum rules, plain and simple and people just abused it enough to make me take a stand, as there wasnt anything we could do, we couldnt infract for it and so on.

We can now. neps have to follow the rules as well.

Abuse goes both ways. NO ONE is allowed to abuse the system. I would really hope all mods boycott this, but it isnt something I could promise.

You can however contact Opal if you receive neps that you find abusive, just as well as if it was any other member. The rules go for all, not just the members. And Opal would take that very seriously if any mod did that.
