I'd consider him part of a soup in Japan, more than likely. :p

A turtle does not live in his shell, he simply seeks shelter in it from predators.

Nor does a turtle use his shell as clothing, just as a means of protection, once more, from predators.

So he would be neither homeless, nor naked, but would most certainly be dead.

Chances are, as said before, in a turtle soup in Japan.

Why? Well, because when you hit on something fat, it jiggles around for a few minutes, like jelly! (Jello to you Americans.)
